Well I can relax now our big family get together went off very well no one had histerics (not even me when the roast potatoes would not go brown) no one felt sick and for once no quarrels. Everyone enjoyed them self and I really should have got a photo of the youngest granddaughter after her attempt at eating a very rich chocolate pudding!!!! and it was great to have our daughter and her boy friend here with us even for just a day .
In case anyone is wondering we seated 12 people for dinner and everything is now cleared away and life is getting back to normal-----(even the table-clothes have been washed!!!!) we just have some leftover meat to eat today.

Slow progress
This is as far as I've managed to get with the demo quilt for our next raffle quilt at the quilt group, this will be in pink and white and the raffle quilt will be red and cream.
The 3 1/2" and 2 1/2" strips have all been cut and just need sub cutting into squares which I will do just before I assemble the blocks---this will be the first job after the new year and I can get a baby quilt top ready for the third week in January when we have our next meeting---wish me luck!!

Intoducing Homer
Meet Homer our elderly lurcher who came to live with us just over 12 months ago. His elderly owner had had a heart attack and Homer was in the house alone with him before his barking attracted attention, eventually he came into Greyhound Gap rescue kennels a very withdrawn and obviously grieving old boy, we took him as a foster but after a week we asked to adopt him -- he was 10+ years then and we just fell in love with him, he is so kind and gentle and adores our grand-children.
He's curled up on my Parker Knolle arm chair and covered with a quilt (it was a very cold day) I really don't know where he puts his long legs!!
This is taken from the opposite side from the first photo.

The saga so far
Baby quilt no.2 has still not been gifted as the baby has decided it doesn't like our winter weather is not keen to be born!!! Mum-to-be is to be admitted to the hospital for a C-section so we should hear some news soon.
Very little sewing being done at the moment just a quick book cover and a test run for the next group quilt which we will start after Xmas.
If I don't get time to post again before the festivities Have a happy and prosperous Christmas and New year. xx
