It will be a top by tonight so layering up tomorrow and the some diagonal straight line quilting, machine stitched binding and it's a finish. Oh and of course a photo!

Baby quilt no.2
I've only six more blocks to make before I can decide on the lay out and finish the top for the baby quilt -- gosh this quilt has been so slow, I just don't seem to have been able to find the time. Monday food shopping and just about one hour in the sewing room so got the cutting finished -- Tuesday migraine all day so wiped out and nothing done and DH ate out of the freezer I had dry toast much later in the evening -- Wednesday , quilt group meeting lots of laughs and a good catch up with some of our members who can't attend all the time (good day), finally Thursday and into my sewing room and with interruptions for meal making and eating managed to get down to the last six blocks phew!!! Tomorrow is a workshop at Blackpool quilters with the wonderful Liz Wall so no home sewing so, fingers crossed I will get the top finished and hopefully layered up on Sunday, then it's all out for a finish as I saw the mum to be today and she really cannot be too far of giving birth!!

A cutting day
Thank goodness for the rotary cutter!! have just spent the whole afternoon cutting fabric. I don't know why I didn't cut out the second baby quilt out last time as I'm making the same pattern and you can cut two blocks from one WOF oh well another lesson learnt in the art of making life easier I suppose. I have also cut out and made various sample pieces for the tree block for a Christmas quilt/wallhanging or with a twist or two a cushion/pillow so just to write it all up and I will be ready for Wednesday and I might even finish the cushion. We are baby sitting the youngest granddaughter on Sunday so will have to push on tomorrow as I will not get near the sewing room when she is here.
Now for a quiet evening watching Children in need on the TV and hopefully an early night as my back is playing up with all that cutting!!!

Gloomy day
Weather awful fine rain which soaks you through got so wet dog
walking AM had to change when I got home. Sore hand having banged it hard yesterday saving myself when I tripped over one of the patchwork greyhounds Urrgh. Now hubby tells me I'm not using my computer correctly as I don't want or use it set up like his!!! It works for me so how come it's wrong -- male logic at work again!!!
All in all a c**p day think I'll go and fine a good book and a cup of hot chocolate and a quilt and just chill out----tomorrow will be better.

Thank you Bonnie Hunter
A big thank you to Bonnie Hunter at Quiltville Blog this is from her book Leaders and Enders
I really enjoyed making this and I suppose it made a little dent in my 2" square tin!!!
I haven't made any progress on anything else this week as I returned from London with a sore throat and tickly cough which developed into a full blown head cold (my pet hate ) so have spent most of the week feeling sorry for myself and very unmotivated. Right that's enough moaning and I must start the week with something constructive ---- a workshop for a group I belong to and when that has been written and samples made onto another baby quilt using the remains of the jelly roll from last week as this baby is due in a couple of weeks!!! Also I must start some of my Christmas baking particularly the cake as it needs to mature and be fed with alcohol for about a month to be perfect for Christmas.

Baby quilt
This is becoming my go to baby quilt as it is fast and easy and uses less than half a Jelly Roll with the same amount of contrast and less than half a metre for the binding if you don't want to use the left over strips of jelly roll. Actually you can make two quilts from 13 strips so it is very economical and they can both be cut at the same time and the second one made as needed---I don't know where I saw this idea but I'm sure it isn't unique to me.
Now been gifted to the new baby of a friend of DD and she is called Indi Rose.
